Hosted tools include their load-generator infrastructure in the price; Spitfire runs on yours. That is why the runner VM cost is a separate input: the Spitfire row includes it on top of the license.
Math: VU hours = VUs × test length (hours) × runs a month. Spitfire runner cost = ⌈VUs / 1,000⌉ runners × hours × runs × hourly cost. The Spitfire edition is the cheapest whose limits fit (Free: 3 users, 100 VUs, 30 min; Growth: 5 users, 2,000 VUs, 4 h; Enterprise: unlimited). The requests/s limit (Free 500, Growth 10,000) is not considered. For Gatling, the number of load generators (Basic 1, Team 3) is not considered.
